Thanks to all who have offered their views, help and experience about boat sharing.? I agree that more of this type of activity will be an unintended consequence of BWs drastic price increases.?? We boat because we love it,? but we are also on a fixed income that can only absorb so much.? The softness of the dollar doesn't help, but that's not your problem.
My bigger worry is that this whole thing could collapse around us.? Let's face it, one thing that BW is lousy at is policing those who chose to not have a current license.? How long will it be before even law abiding folks (I only speed a little, on the road that is...) decide to not pay for a license?? If that trend caught on, it would give BW an excellent excuse to let the canal system fall into disrepair.? Boat sharing is a much better idea, and one that we just might pursue. By the way, we're moored for the winter at Yardley Gobion, just south of the diesel pump.? It's difficult to leave our pride and joy for 4 months, so check old Rhapsody out if you're cruising by.?
