Re the DHSS issue BW should point out to the DHSS that it is in their bye laws
that a licence should be displayed. There should be no exceptions as non display
winds up those of us who do pay. It creates unnecessary work for BW checking
reports of unlicensed boats, and if a paying licenced boater tackles a non
licence displayer that boater has a ready excuse he can use, DHSS mate! Two
years ago I paid my licence in good time the new discs did not arrive before my
holiday cruise I 'phoned BW at Watford and was told there was a long delay but
to go ahead there would be no problems (they had cashed the cheque). During the
cruise I was apprehended by the chief patrol officer in the NW who clearly did
not believe my story I was then hounded by the Northwich office for several
weeks long after my licence disc had been delivered to my home. I didn't bother
to help them with their dilemma If Northwich wont talk to Watford so be it. So
much for fancy computers!.
