At one stage didn't they use the Latvian, Rigas Dizalis (or something like that) twin cylinder thumper imported by Peter Thompson of Marine Engine Services. I think, IIRC, that the Recreational Craft Directive finished off that engine in new craft because the engine was 'produced in series' and so was prohibited for new builds due to the emissions legislation (but I may be wrong).
