Not to my knowledge. I'm sure that Dorothy is correct and that the
Greaves was a renamed Indian produced Ruston. IIRC when Dorothy's Tarn
was built by MCC the Indian Rustons were still imported under the
Ruston name (complete with a comprehensive tool kit and spare parts
inventory). Then I heard that they couldn't use the name any more
(can't remember why) and had to choose another name and used Greaves
(any link with the British motorcycles of the same name perhaps?). It's
all a bit hazy now but there are some facts in there I think.
I always thought the the Kingfisher was based on a Chinese built
diesel, perhaps imported and marinised somewhere in the SW of the UK
but I may be wrong.
>From memory the Ruston/Greaves is a very large upright twin and the
Kingfisher a horizontally aligned twin. Where is Brian Dominic when you
want him because I seem to remember that Rumpus had a Kingfisher engine.
