Iain uses Jerry cans a lot up here. There are not a lot of canal side diesel
outlets and in the early days of the Lowland canals being opened , it was
the only way to get fuel. However, now that BW sells fuel at the Wheel and
the sea locks, he finds that it is cheaper to take the Jerry cans there to
be filled up! The BW supplier is the same one which Iain would take the cans
to but it is cheaper getting the cans filled at the BW pumps. There are no
diesel outlets in the area where our trip boats operates so jerry cans are
the only way of fuelling.
