Possible boating-associated uses for a jerry can:

- Stools for sitting on, on board and during picnics on the bank

- Built into fences around the mooring

- Filled with water, weights to which tarpaulin strings can be tied

- Partly buried as mud-free steps or paving stones at the mooring

- Cut in half lengthway and hinged, to provide waterproof storage for
clothes

- Buried horizontally in the bank, with the caps off, as nest sites
for birds or small mammals
