Even Skipton might get a lashing.> Hi Andrew since you asked and thank you for your concern, the River Lee, has gone up and I had to go and check the boats, only a couple of plastic things (sorry boats;-))) needed the ropes releasing a bit, oh sorry the River must be up all of a 1ft (if that). (but yes still had to sort out mooring ropes that have been left to tight. Have also fished out a large branch, that was floating pass. Yes there is a strong flow, but have seen a NB moving, was going down stream and I think it was under control?? The Stort, I have been told burst its banks in the normal place, no change there then, alomst think empty your bath and the Stort will go over the bank above Roydon! So as Dorothy commented its the wind you have to be careful off in London not the water. Have been reading your tales of woe and just thankful that the R. Lee, flood defences were done about 10 years ago I think. The problem we have now and it happened a couple of months ago was a large log gets stuck in the electric weirs and the pound goes up or down depending were you are, our pound went down 20" in the space of an hour. Quickley rectified as long as its noticed. Last one was at 20:00hrs what would have happened if it had been at 02:00hrs? Always look on the bright side, soon be the summer.
