Maybe Navvies could have a column explaining what you need to do maintain a
canal and it's furniture in tip-top shape for boats - preferably on the cheap.
The sort of thing that it seems every BW official knows very little about (and
maybe cares less).

OK maybe you could ask your dog if she'd like to write one. After all, I've
seen how interested in cats she is, and I suspect she's probably quite keen on
hedgehogs and one-pot recipes too... and we're desparate...
