As I understand it this was once considered to be a potential site for  
development as a 200 berth commercial marina. I don't know the whys or  
wherefores but it is, perhaps more likely to be dug out as a small  
private basin.

Mr Rowland Parke is fronting the deal (01788 833767) and is currently  
looking for 8 private shareholders to invest an initial £25,000 each  
in the project.

I am reading the blurb with an air of interest but have no current  
involvement in the scheme.

FYI, a year or so back this same enterprise developed a string of on  
line moorings with adjacent plots of "amenity land" at Parbold near  
Wigan. They sold very quickly and I thought they were visible "as  
completed" on Google Earth, though I can't see them today. I think  
that was the parcel of land between the canal and the railway at
