I have yet to complete my investigations on these devices and I thank 
those who have contributed photos etc of the ring system which is new 
to me.

As interim thought - I am glad to see that they are usable without 
the use of mooring hooks which surely are one of the devils worst 
inventions.

Sheilas point is of course totally invalid, as ropes would be the 
most appropriate method of securing your boat to the rings. 

Meanwhile - I am not ashamed to support Adrian's initial  point.
