I have to say that there is nothing in Sean's post that mentions an historic steam powered boat. From reading the text and not knowing Sean (as A might not) then it is possible to think that he was talking hireboats all the time.
Just as if I was talking about narrowboats would you assume that in the next sentence I was talking barges just because I own one? Julian I am fairly busy at the moment and do not have the time to dot every t and cross every i. I ceased posting trip reports, which might have been informative to others meeting the boat to know what the risks were, after I received a complaint. I will now leave newbies to make their own mistakes, which they are quite capable of without assistance. Sean PS Yes, I have been using springs for 50 years; as far as I know the boat last sank in 1963 at Brades and when time permits I will find if she sank in the previous 130 years.
