Regards Pete The locks are open from 12 to 2 but only for boats which have prebooked. As far as I am aware, you can't just turn up and go, even during that time. When we went onto the Monty in October, we booked that morning but it was a week day. I get the impression from my phone call earlier today that if you want to go through the locks at the weekend you have to book on the Friday. The booking to go down the locks was made by phone and we got a call back to confirm the booking. We came back up the next day (which is why we are going back) and I seem to recall that we booked the return trip with the lockie on the way down. had we not known how long we would stay on the Monty we would have had to book the return trip by phone, I think. The locks do not open till 12 on the dot, even if all the booked boats are there. The order of going up/down the locks is the order you arrive and I think the 2pm deadline is that you must have started down by then, not that you must clear the flight by then.
