and guess what? It is not the video that failed to open; it was the
computer that you are using that failed to open it over the connection
that it is using. Until that problem is solved, you will continue to
miss out.

And guess what? I'd already worked that one out, Bob, but nevertheless am
grateful to you for giving voice to the thought. What really bugs me is that
one day I can open something & the next I can't. There is no rhyme or reason
for this ''lottery''
I have several ''youtube'' favourites [mostly musical tracks] that will open
@ one library & not another, &, as I've already said 'the ''same'' thing will
open on my 'regular' computer one day but not the next.
Occasionally an 'advert' appears on the right-hand-side of the screen stating
'access denied' but, doesn't necessarily mean it will open or not-----I've had
both results i.e. success or failure with that legend appearing on the screen.
It's this sort of problem that convinces me not to get a computer of my own
because at least I can rant against the local authority crap that purports to
be ''access for all'' whereas if the computer were *mine* I'd be sorely
aggrieved that I'd spent money on something that doesn't work.
While I'm in complaining mood, another thing that grates is
editing a joke containing pictures that someone sends who, lazily, doesn't
delete the ''history'' of who's had it before me. Being of a tidy mind, I like
to do that very thing before sending it on. Nine times out of ten, this results
in my intended recipient getting, instead of a picture, just an outline with a
small red cross in the corner of the blank square.
If, however, I just click 'forward' then the whole thing including
pictures [& the history] goes through with no problem. A friend & I have
engaged the finest available minds on this & nobody, I repeat nobody, can
explain or solve it!
  {{{Pause to talk to library assistant}}}
Unbelievable, just spoke to the library lady about the contents of this
letter & asking just when we can expect the computers to be upgraded so this
doesn't occur any more. To illustrate what I meant, I clicked on ''American
Pie'' by Don Mclean, I've tried ½ a dozen times to access this song this
morning with no success until the assistant was looking over my
shoulder---you've guessed it--perfect. Now she's gone away to catalogue some
books or whatever, I tried again--zilch!!!!!!!!
