Exactly - experience with my T-mobile modem shows that I can only use
video download sites if I'm on a fast 3G connection. Slower 3G gives
very poor results, and as for GPRS - forget it.
I'm sorry Barry, if you can only access the web from the semi-crippled
PCs that libraries typically use, you're going to miss out on a lot of
stuff these days. Broadband connections are now the norm, and services
assume a connection speed of at least 1 Mbps.
