I was hoping to be able to make a comparison between the proportion of
traffic on English waterways (or some identifiable subset thereof)
that was devoted to coal and the proportion on Irish waterways that
was devoted to turf, perhaps for two or three years: before, during
and after WW2, for example. However, nothing in my (admittedly small)
collection of books on British or English waterways gives a figure;
googling hasn't produced anything either. Does anyone have the
information and a source that can be sited?
