Little Venice would be OK if you can get the first mooring but boats are moored 2 and 3 abreast. You might like to consider Kensal Green. If you do go for Paddington you will need to go right around to the main entrance to get into Paddington Station as there are steps down at the mooring end. We have found London to be very disabled un- friendly and visits to any attraction will take a great deal of planning. At the London Eye go to the help desk and you will get free ticket for your carer and fast tracked to the ride. However, most moorings are against a hard edge and official visitor moorings have rings or bollards to tie up to. Agree re John's comments above. Check out the boaters guides on waterscape.com for lots of useful info. There is also the brand new Boating in London guide which can be downloaded and gives details of all the facilities at every official visitor mooring. All the moorings in London are generally busy with most being double breasted in the centre of town. Triple breasting is not permitted and double breasting in Paddington Basin is not permitted. Plenty of turnover so should be able to get a mooring ok but it is first come first served. Lots of things to see and do, very diverse city.
It is possible to book an overnight stay at the London Canal museum (which is fascinating and well worth a visit). Any questions or problems boating while in London please call 020 7985 7200 during office hours. You can even ask to talk to me if I'm around and not dealing with naughty people :-) D
