Look after our safety... What never - well hardly ever. Try complaining if you do fall and hurt yourself - the (you do it at your risk - nothing to do with us) response comes by return of post. I had the misfortune to trip on the uneven cobbles at Ducie Street a couple of weeks ago and my nose had a very close encounter with these very newly laid cobbles . I was advised by a BW man on the ground to report this to BW and I therefore did so. The latest word I had is that the cobbles may be the responsibility of Manchester City Council and not BW - it was along side the moorings for the start of the "assisted passage" on the Rochdale at lock 83. Although the bruising has now subsided and folk have stopped asking Iain if he had beat me up , my nose and lip are still swollen and the fall definitely affected my "enjoyment" of doing the Rochdale canal - we got over just before it was closed because of the pollution, We are now home after returning by way of the Leeds and Liverpool and we are getting Gamebird ready to take to the National. Gluttons for punishment, that's us :-) Ann Ann and Iain Street NB Gamebird; One tenth NB Copperkins11 Web site http://www.nbgamebird.co.uk Scottish Inland Waterways Association - http://www.siwa.org.uk Bridge 19-40 Canal Society - http://www.bridge19-40.org.uk
