In the absence of signs to the contrary, it's 60. The same applies if it's 2 lanes each way with a double white line down the middle. There has to be a physical barrier down the middle for it to be 70. At least that's what I was told some years ago when I lived near to an infamous road of this type (which now has a manual 50 limit.) Steve NB Bream
