Well at least you had a chance to try out the air conditioning! We hired one of these boats last year and endured two weeks of cold and rain (although that probably wasn't the boat's fault). Yes, they are a pig to handle, and so governed down that we nearly couldn't get into the lock from the River Loire into the Lateral Canal at Decize. Yes, there was a lot of water coming down the river, but the penichette following us was catching us up quite rapidly! But having experienced the southern half of the Nivernais, I certainly do want to go back and do the whole canal some time. Keir
