My brother (in his 60s) is contemplating his first hire with wife and 12-year-old daughter. Fancies a route without many locks for a Monday - Friday. Someone's said the Thames Oxford - Lechlade because the locks are staffed (but manually operated?) but the only hire fire I can see that wouldn't entail a lot of locks to get to the Thames is College Cruisers who don't have a suitable midweek boat.
They're near London so wouldn't want to travel too far (though if they came north I could help them with the locks!) Ashby would be another possibility. Can anyone think of anywhere else? Anglo-Welsh have nothing available from their North Kilworth base on the bit between Watford and Foxton. Steve
