The Ashby canal would do a very gentle Mon-fri - perhaps with a trip
into Coventry as well if wanted. Have a look at:-

at Stoke Golding, I have never hired from them but every time I met the
owner he was keen to please and kept very cean and smart boats. He also
suggested that he was 'negotiable' when it came to short notice
bookings. The Ashby itself is very rural and quiet.
Viking (now part of ABC and on the web under 'UK boat hire' also have a
base at Rugby which would leave only 1 lock (and only 6" at that) to do.
