Trent at Willington today is higher than Saturday, over the banks and
on to the flood plain. With the quieter day today it might settle a
little before more rain forecast Tuesday and Thursday. Generally
speaking it takes 2/3 days to come up and the same to settle. There
were also warnings on Radio Derby this morning about water on the
roads around Alrewas so we can assume the river section must be
closed. If they are at Trent lock then the Soar will be the quickest
to settle down but of course they will have to cross the Trent to get
to it!
I'm going to stick to hiring in April and late September like I've
always done and in 40 weeks or so hiring have only been held up once!
