What I liked is that the ex BW manager who sold the metal bollards to BW
complained when he tripped over a wooden one that, one presumes, he had not
sold them. And the region this bollard lived in - with many other newly
installed wooden ones ones was that which he had managed - complete with its BW
yard right by Stewponey lock. So why did they (at Fazeley) not buy the metal
bollards? Maybe they were trying to save money. One wonders what the exact
breakdown in costs per bollard were - metal or wood.

Incidently many of the bollards we have seen near the top gate could hang
boats on the cill if they used them - others look like an ill match group of
houses for Smerfs and (laugh if you will) at one lock that had two old wooden
bollards in perfect condition they have added three odd metal type ones to
completely ruin the ambience. Is there no artistic beauty in BW?
