He did extensive trials of different types. The website to start from is http://www.ultraleds.co.uk I think. I've got a few of them on Virgo. Mainly the "tower" type in Bayonet cap fittings. My main grumble is that the cool ones are too cold and the warm ones too warm! I wish they'd offer one with a mix of the two types.
