The Ardnacrusha is very definitely much larger than the Llangollen and 
I speak as one who has visited it and sailed the Llangollen a good 
number of times. My discussion about power generation on the Llangollen 
would only be a local contribution and in total could not possibly 
measure up to 1 or 2% of Ardnacrusha - still it does seem to be a fair 
amount of power going, other than the drinking water factor, to waste - 
and what's more it's absolutely dependable, 24/7 (apart from breaches).
