I would support that Richard - and, by the way, you did well yesterday
in such august company.

I was most impressed with a presentation made at the NCA meeting in
Moira last Sunday by Ed Moss, BW's new volunteer coordinator. I think
BW have recognised the point you make but they have a long way to go
to get beyond the barrier they are creating for themselves with the
current fixation on H&S.

I am sure the subject of volunteers will come up at our strategy
meeting on Saturday if only because we have a presentation from Brian
Kingshott, Chair of the Lichfield and Hatherton Canal Restoration
Trust and they, of course, are a prime example of how to get the best
use of volunteers.
