After the suggestion here yesterday that the term "until further notice" was being overused and in reality conveyed little useful information, I thought I would pass on some of the text of a notice that BW/Waterscape have\sent out today:
------------------------------------------------------------------- [In relation to a stoppage on the Ashton Canal] Following on from the stoppage notice issued on Thursday 16th October, the Ashton Canal remains closed to through navigation. The workshop team have measured up the gate and have started constructing the replacement; however it may take up to four weeks to restore navigation. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Somebody may have been listening to boaters! -- Bob
