bio-diesel."
Exactly the reason I bought a low mileage (then) Zafira A. Being older
technology (chains instead of belts etc.) they will run on anything
and even have a heated fuel filter for when it gets cold.
The reason I have been given for NOT running modern (EU4 or later)
diesels on Bio is that the particle filter in the exhaust system
becomes unserviceable if you ever put fossil diesel back in
afterwards. This would be an expensive MOT failure if you were running
on fossil at the time of testing.
FWIW (getting back OT) from my experiences using Bio in a vehicle for
the last year, the main reason I would not use it in my boat is the
settlement/gelatin issue. In a car the fuel is kept stirred up by
being constantly moved around. On a boat it will settle too much and I
have experienced the formation of 'clods' of jelly in the bottom of my
25litre storage containers, whilst stood in the garage, with supplies
from some producers. If this happened on Jannock then it would not be
so easy to clean out.
