If somebody has already come forward to look after the domain and the hosting then that's great. However, if we do become stuck over this then there are various programs available on the Internet which will connect to any given domain name, and download the complete contents which reside under it.
I have done this successfully with a few domains now, for legitimate reasons only of course. I should imagine they will renew the registration, as they were keen to ensure that his website remains accessible. In spite of efforts by Mike's brother Derek, it has not been possible to update certain bits of the site, such as the Canalway Cavalcade pages, so a lot of it looks very neglected.
