What is a boat drain? No, I don't mean a hole for letting water out of a boat. It's a term I've found on some old Ordnance Survey maps. It may be simply a (section of a) drainage channel that is wide enough for a boat to use or to moor on, but that's just my guess: I would prefer an authoritative answer. Google hasn't helped.
