We are all busying ourselves being "frugal"?
With the banks in dissarry, I suppose the next thing to be wiped out will be
the pensions of the people who did not believe in credit and were
prudent...in my case with the Prudential.
I have spent most of the day fiddling with our rather ancient Braun electric
toothbrush, that did not want to turn off....this ended up with it not
wanting to trun on. I have combined the remains with the last defunct Braun
toothbrush, that I did not bin and have a working one.
I am also in the middle of Peter's Seat Leon, which was rather misty and
soggy inside. We have persuaded him that now is not the time to throw it
away and get a new car (he was going to get a new Fiesta).
Aparently Seat Leon's filling with water is very common. This is due to the
seal going on the window regulator panel (inside of door) and water that
gets into the door cavity coming out the wrong side of the door seals.
We have all 4 gone :-(
So...I had to take all the door trins off (only broke 4 clips, so have sent
off for these), the seats, centre consol, masses of trim to get the carpet
out, then the moulded footwell anti-drum inserts. After draining the worse
off, the carpet is now hung up in the (heated) loft and the footwell
antidrum panels crammed in the airing cupboard. I have loosened all the
regulator panels and dried the seals, then left the car in our garage with a
fan heater running in the Leon. I will clamp down the reg panels with
silicon sealer.
The other occupant of the garage is the KIA Wildernii "tug"...if it gets any
less use, I may as well get a SORN. It is a good as worthless now, 2.5 years
old, with 6000 miles on the clock.
Next is to send off my Canadian passport renewal form...which is something
else! I finally have all the stuff in place.
