I know that LPG is a complete replacement for petrol, but are you saying that the oil conversion is part derv, and part gas, then?
I've never come across an oil engine conversion before - by recalibrating the pump I'm assuming that it is the volume displaced, rather than the pressure, which is reduced - but doesn't that affect the starting at all? Presumably you would then need to open the LPG flow before you started cranking (and hope for a good start before flooding the engine compartment with gas ..... ) Trevor John wrote .. I used to fit gas conversions to both petrol and diesel engines. With a diesel engine we used to get the injector pump re-calibrated to 60% of its norm and then the gas collar would fit into the air inlet pipe. This worked very well and gave more torque at lower engine speeds
