Is that a lump hammer or a single jack? I brought a long handled (18") 3+lb hammer at the DIY some years back. It is heavier and has a longer handle than a (coal) lump hammer and is ideal for driving pins in one handed. The single jack was the largest hammer used one handed hour on hour in mining days to drive in spikes to make holes in rocks (for dynamite or to crack the rocks) and to drive in railroad spikes. It is a lovely hammer to use - plenty of handle to swing the weight and I find it can drive a mooring pin into any surface - even semi solid towpaths - in a dozen bangs. If that is what is on sale the price is excellent.
