I'm not complaining, but Pennine Waterways seems to have become unexpectedly popular all of a sudden!
According to my site stats, there were 1351 unique visitors to the site yesterday - twice the average number. I thought that maybe, because of the snow, lots of people had spent the day at home surfing the net, but then I see that there have been over 750 visits so far today! I wondered whether some high profile website like the BBC had linked to a page, but examining the list of recent referrals, most visitors are, as usual, arriving from Google. There appears to be a slight increase in visitors arriving from StumbleUpon but I can see no explanation for this sudden rise in visitor numbers! There was a smaller spike on 12th January - 944 visitors, although there were more total page views than yesterday. Any suggestions as to what is happening? -- Martin Clark (pedalling faster to keep the website running) Pennine Waterways Website http://www.penninewaterways.co.uk
