Despite the promise of further snow last night we've only had about 1.5 centimetres in total here in Skipton. Even some of that melted before the further sprinkling during last night. The only downside to the lack of snow and the melting is that the untreated surfaces are like sheet ice. I've just watched a neighbour step out of their car in our slightly sloping garage courtyard and slide gracefully down the slope unable to stop ;-))) The canal isn't frozen at all; it's quite balmy really. Doesn't the appropriate saying go something like: The sun shines on the righteous? Yes, I'm sure that's the one. ;-))) Roger
