A helpful librarian has been getting me out of the 'computer mire' to
the extent that the 'yahoo classic' page appears to suddenly throw up
these , let's be charitable & call them anomalies, whereas the 'new,
improved' [huh!!] page seems to be behaving as I would expect the
'classic' one to do. I won't be surprised though, if it's all
different again tomorrow.

Hi Barry

I've got to say that the truth is that Yahoo is not playing up and
your problems are entirely as a result of the unusual way in which you
view the group.

I normally receive the group's messages by email but I have also
checked the group's webpage in three different browsers.  In each
case, links are appearing properly and are clickable.

Dave did miss a bit out from his suggestion. To highlight a URL (or
any other piece of text), you need to hold down the SHIFT key whilst
running your mouse/cursor over the text.  This will cause it to be
highlighted.

Then hold down Ctrl and click C, to copy the text to your Clipboard.

Place your cursor in the address line of your browser.  The hold Ctrl
while you click V to copy the text into the address line.  And hit
Return to go to the webpage.

Just to re-iterate, Bob, thanks to all for helpful suggestions. I wasn't
aware that the way I 'view the group' was at all unusual :-)) I've
been viewing for about 8-10 years without *any* problems as regards reply,
forward, compose, etc.etc. & am still at a loss as to why things are
unnecessarily changed.
