If you fancy something different on the way up to the Chesterfield the first
part of the Fenland Link should be open for business on 1st April.  We have
booked 8 boats in for the Good Friday from Grand Sluice returning on the Eater
Monday.

Also there is a boat gathering in South Kyme, on the Slea, to celebrate the
refurbishment of Bottom Lock.  This will be on the first Bank Holiday in May.
Everyone is very welcome but if you are interested please let me know.

Is anyone planning to go to the IWA National Campaign Festival at Kiveton
(Chesterfield Canal) over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend?

The new(ish) section from Worksop to Kiveton is not to be missed
(beautifully kept in delightful rural scenery, doubles and trebles in abundance
and it
is the area from which the stone was quarried for the Houses of Parliament -
and transported by canal). This could present excellent mini-GIG opportunities
for northern boaters.

And for a bit of a challenge the Trent between Torksey and West Stockwith or
Keadby and Stockwith can be quite interesting!
