Bob is quite right. I use a disposable Yahoo web-mail based address
for my postings on uk.rec.waterways (and only for that list). The
address very soon started to get hit by spam (which shows that the
address was harvested from uk.rec) and Yahoo's spam filter whacks
most of it straight into the spam folder. Just occasionally one gets
through into the inbox and I can designate it as spam myself (which
helps with the training of Yahoo's spam filtering). Compared to the
amount of spam I used to get on this tinyworld address I am heartily
glad that spam filtering has improved so much. If Barry is using a
web-based Yahoo address for his postings then any spam clearly shows
as 'one new message' alongside the icon for the spam folder so it
reminds you to look in and delete it if it is truly spam (or leave it
for 30 days IIRC when it will automatically deleted).
