We had a cross bed on Amos. The mattress was hinged and flopped upwards and
the base bit hinged down during cruising. It was okay but I wouldn't choose it
again as it meant being unable to pass when the bed was out, and this could be
an issue if someone falls ill. We had to go out of the front and in at the
stern to access the engine room. It had a foam mattress.
