Well . . . . . we were getting far too complacent down on the G&S. Plenty of water, easy access, beautiful scenery, great tasting beer, no stress and all that kind of thing. We wanted to see how the other half live - rugby league, M6, Manchester City, congenital misery, interminable gloom, Boddingtons, industrial wastelands, incessant rain, @rse-biting terriers. Now we've seen it for ourselves we do feel properly cheered up. If we're not careful we'll find ourselves going totally Hull Kingston Rovers like that Millin bloke on the Bradford & Bingley Canal. Beeky PS but seriously, it's just time to explore the north, before they cancel it completely.
