Hi!

I am puzzled at your comment. Why was it made?

I do comply with the cc suggestions and regularly move the boat.

More than that, I have a twice daily record of engine usage, for "knowing" how
much fuel is used for propulsion and domestic use. Note that any fuel used for
cruising does not get split and cruising hours are recorded as 100% cruising,
even though I usually run the washing machine at the same time AND I am aware
that whilst cruising, the engine is charging the domestic batteries!

I also included are the Start and Finishing cruising points, engine hours
cruised, including the day/date. As a single handed cruiser, it takes rather
longer to negotiate locks, so I "bow haul" the boat through the locks, a
substantial saving on engine cruising hours (Diesel used). My "Split" works
out at 95% domestic and 5% cruising, which does actually vary slightly.

>From the above, I can "prove" beyond reasonable doubt that I "mostly" comply
>with BW requests.

If I do get a "Patrol Notice" I don't even bother to read it.

I fill a 1-litre milk bottle about 80% full of water, thread the Patrol Notice
to a Kebab wooden skewer, then push the pointed end into the top of a milk
bottle and float it in the canal, (Just like a flag marking a buoy!)
Beauocracy is like a red rag to me and it is mostly unnecessary on the canals.
BW know me and can contact me by phone at any time, if they are unhappy with
anything.

So? Why the comment? ~Allan~

*** PS: It was at the suggestion of a senior BW member of staff, that I cruise
point to point to point, on a cruise from one location to another location,(A
proper journey, not bridge hopping!) before I make a return journey. BW comment
was that this DOES constitute a journey within the said regulations as laid
down. I do admit to overstaying the 14 day limit at times. There is always a
good reason when this has happened. (Hospital appointments clash, poor weather,
engine break-downs etc). ~Allan~
