As I said earlier, I used to do it using a Blackberry 7100V. The technique was to start the reply with 'So-and-so said "' and then highlight the part of the original post I wanted to quote and cut and paste it after my starting line. Then I would compose my response complete with sig. and finally delete the remaining text that was left after my sig. before sending the response. I am not sure whether your 9000 will let you do that as the 7100V had a special Skodafone corporate software build. I am sure that searching the archives will also produce a couple of examples where I completed the above procedure but forgot the delete bit at the end thereby including the rest of the unwanted original at the end of my post.
