It's been a fair old week in GIG Admin Towers!

I posted a copy of the message I sent out last week to the Flag
Officers of Soar Boating Club and almost immediately got an email back
"Please contact me urgently!". I always get worried when I get one of
these.....................

Sure enough -

"We didn't think you were coming as we'd not heard from you for quite
some time."

"We've invited some AWCC members for that weekend"

"The clubhouse is only licenced for 80 people and we're expecting 40"

"We're not allowing camping 'coz the local planners are restricting
us"

OH S&*T!!!!

Fortunately, help was at hand from Andrew Goodland, who suggested that
the Stafford Boat Club might be able to help. He made the initial
contact, with the result that we now have an alternative venue which
is still within a week's cruising range of the National (or whatever
it's called).

As always, they've been very welcoming and will be willing to do
Sunday breakfast, something which we weren't going to get at
Normanton.

In addition (and because it worked so well last time) I'm suggesting
we have a Spudfest instead of a barbeque - you can all bring salads
and fillings for spuds!

Subject to no violent objections (and I do appreciate that some of you
may well have made cruising plans which may now be disrupted and have
to be re-jigged) bookings will open this coming Wednesday.
