Readers of my blog will know that I had a breakdown yesterday when
the engine alternator belt failed. I'm just glad it was yesterday,
rather than today when we'd have been somewhere between Torksey and
Cromwell.

Brian has helpfully commented on my blog reminding me of the dodge of
fixing a spare belt to the face of the engine, to save the hassle I
had, having to take off two other belts to get to the failed one. Any
comments how feasible this would be on a Beta 43? It'll be less of an
issue on Sanity Again, as we won't have a Travelpower, and the
domestic alternator is much easier to adjust on the current models.

Also, I wonder if the replacement should be an item on a long term
service? The belt I took off was the original, and I guess it's not
surprising that it gave up the ghost at over 6900 hours!
