Yeah but, why should an inactive accumulator cause bumping and spluttering in 
the water system? AFAIAA when an accumulator loses its accumulate all you will 
get is a more frequent running of the water pump to top up the system pressure. 
It is, surely, air in the system that causes the spluttering and, if the whole 
plumbing system before the pump is airtight then, once primed, how can air get 
into the system? I believe that you have another problem Arthur. I suspect that 
your accumulator checks will not help and I would look for air leaks before the 
pump as a first stage diagnosis.
