I have to admit that although there was a lengthy debate on the subject of
water accumulators and so on I didn't take much notice since the red
cylinder sitting under the sink minded its own business and the water supply
flowed smoothly except when the tank was almost dry.

Inevitably, since I ignored all the teccy debates my water system has now
gone on the blink, spitting, gurgling in the Paloma and banging except
when taps turned on fully. I wish I'd taken some notice of the debate. I wonder
if the accumulator is the problem. Both hot and cold taps are affected.

Please will someone remind me: If the cut in pressure to activate the
water pump is 20psi and the pump cut off switch pressure is nominally 40psi,
what should the pressure be at the Schrader valve in the accumulator, and
should this be measured with the water pump power supply off and the taps
open?
