I would contact BW Wigan and ask them if there are mooring restrictions in that area. Assuming they say not I would stay put and refer anyone who tries to give you trouble to BW.
I am greatly concerned by people who think it is acceptable to move next to the canal then start to dictate what can and can not be done there. Nantwich, Ansty and Barnton all spring to mind. Wherever this happens we need to make whatever protest is necessary to prevent BW from giving into unacceptable pressure of this type. Steve NB Bream
