Very good point Neil, but I think the problem will hit and when it does it
could be a big problem but t could be a matter of time.
There is problem of the possible pollution especially when the boats sink etc.
Something I have thought about is everyone knows there are a lot of TPS (Tow
path Shufflers) on the cut, the Waste disposal (Toilet) at Feilds Weir was
closed for a time, there are only a couple of elsens on the cut, but in our
marina which would be the closest, I do not seem to see lots more people using
the facilties!
What about the mess on the towpath that they seem to leave?
The other problem is see are boats that are just shuffled around, and then left
for weeks at a time.
One of the people working in our yard got a note from BW move on or get fined,
neither he or us had a problem with that, he had over stayed by a day or two
(its a 48 hr visitors mooring), he was working on his boat and using the boat
yard facilities.
On the same mooring has been a boat that has been there for at least three
weeks this time previous time several months, there is also a green boat that
has been on the visitors mooring since the Stanstead Abbots Fate/waterside
fare. This boat is a BW tug. It is suppose to be in need of repair but has sat
on a 48hr mooring since June. There are far more boats who are just taking the
Pee.
