But the Irish government announced that it *will* be reducing its
deficit in the coming year.

Unlike the current UK government, which is a one-club golfer.  It's
policy is:

In good times - spend!
In bad times -spend!
In a recession - spend!
In a recovery - spend!

The only time this lot doesn't spend too much of my money (mostly on
things I don't want) is when it's out of office.  A statement which I
hope will soon be proved correct.

And you think the Irish government is bad ...
