Sorry about that stunted transmission, it went off when I wasn't
looking.

What I was going to say was, be very careful about the quality of the
plastic and in particular the colourfastness.

I bought some dark red tiles from the chandlery (one of my favourites)
at the bottom of Braunston locks. They weren't DriDek and I knew that.
They were a bit cheaper than DriDek and I was happy. But they faded
horribly in the first summer, so I was unhappy.

I put up with this for a few seasons and then decided to get some
proper "red oxide" coloured replacements, but I couldn't find any
except at Midland Chandlers HQ. These are not DriDek either so I
challenged MC about the quality and in particular the risk of fading.
They told me not to worry, so I haven't and the tiles didn't fade so I
am happy.

I don't know if the black pigments are more stable but I wouldn't risk
a cheaper alternative without having a very serious conversation with
the vendor. You never know, Phoenix could be exposed to strong
sunlight during the summer months.

I've got some of the rejected tiles in the garage at Stourport so I
can check the branding in the moulding, if you are concerned.

regards
Beeky
